We often have trouble staying with our difficult thoughts. We try to push them away, which can be quite a struggle to cope with. Acceptance and Commitment therapy aims to aid you in becoming mindful of these thoughts and making peace with them. In this way, instead of fighting these thoughts, the objective is to acknowledge them.
About the Workshop
We all want to learn real therapeutic techniques and plans, and practice multiple approaches to gain confidence in the practice of Psychology. This workshop is designed to bridge this gap between theory and practice. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) has its foundation in mindfulness. The therapy approach aims to help individuals with the acceptance of thoughts and consequently steal its power to affect them. With psychological flexibility at the core of the therapy, the importance of values, committed action, and acceptance are highlighted in the therapy mode. This workshop aims to familiarize you with concepts like cognitive diffusion and aid to perceive the self in context. Utilized for treatment of conditions ranging from depression to chronic pain experiences, ACT may even be applied for some self-reflection and valuable insight. After this workshop, you will be equipped with combining mindfulness with self-acceptance, leaving you more attuned to your thoughts and feelings, be them positive or negative. Participants will receive an e-certificate upon completion of the workshop. Participants will have to fill out a feedback form to be eligible for the e-certificate, which will be mailed to you within 2 days of the workshop.
